Any recommendations for a 12V air compressor with decent cable length capable of achieving MoHo tyre pressures?

There is also a cheaper compressor in Maplins that's supposed to be ok.. .. about £20 .. but no personal knowledge of it

Mentioned this one in an earlier thread.... It's rubbish, tried two and took them back, wouldn't even put 50psi in my wheelchair tyre...

Most of what Maplin sell is rubbish. Apart from small electrical spares and batteries, almost everything I have bought from them I have had to return
I can also recommend the Ring RAC900.

Totally agree,it is not at all powerful and takes ages to put a small amount of air in,simply not worth buying.

Three years and counting, 30 years a tent tower.
Ring RAC900 .. the dogs nuts
and double ditto - cracking piece of kit, and if its good enough for AA & RAC its good enough for me. The cable isn't so long but the air hose is, reaches all tyres on my 7.5m moho with the pump sat by my battery locker. The only slight criticism, if there is one is that the on/off switch is on the pump so its a bit easier if there are two of you...but it doesnt put air in so fast that you will overpressure anything if you have to walk back to the pump when you reach your desired airpressure. All fits in a nice neat bag too.

Bought on recommendation on here thanks guys....:thanks3:

Yet mine would repeatedly put 115psi into an old 24ltr compressor tank from empty in approx 8 minutes.

I must also have got a good un. Had the Maplin one for about 4 or 5 years, use it regularly to blow tyres up and even an inflatable boat a couple of times. Have noticed the rubber pipe is now showing signs of cracking, so will be looking to change that soon.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
I carry one of the total tyre repair kits that come with new cars. Ebay is full of them, the original one was from a new Honda & is about 12yrs old, still going strong. The one that we carry in the Moho came with a Ford Galaxy that we had from new in 2011. You can use it as a stand alone pump or use it with the tyre repair gel, it simply screws into the pump & Bob's your uncle Fanny's your aunt. Very long flex, they're usually made by Continental & are way better quality than you can buy off the shelf.
This kinda thing.....

For info - I bought an RAC820 in April. Went to use it the other day and it would not inflate my rear tyre - the pump was making a noise but not the right one!
Exchanged it today for an RAC830 which is advertised as handling motorhome tyres. Exactly the same problem. Spoke with Ring Tech Support and they agreed it was faulty, just like the other one.
So I've bought the RAC900 after reading all these plaudits and ... it works!

Does the Ring RAC900 have a cigarette lighter power connection or only the crocodile clip connectors for the battery (or both) ?

Mine has crocodile clips but is about 6 years old so new ones may be different.

I too recommend ring rac 900 , I have one and it does my Moho tyres no problem . I agree that switch being on pump is a nuisance but it's easy to use , leads attach to battery terminals in engine bay not cigarette lighter .

I use a Viair compresser, bought 5 years ago for a trip to Morocco with a Land Rover Camper, ideal in the desert deflated tyres in soft sand then reinflate on hard ground, was over £200, don't know how mutch now. See Sasha link below.

I still have that Maplin one, and it managed to put 55 psi into my VW camper tyres without problems, althought the first time I connected it, that blew the fuse for the ciggie lighter socket. Not bad for £20. Maplins has since gone bust which is a shame.

I bought the Ring 900 to replace it because the Ring is superior in several ways and makes the job easier.

I have a selection, an old Halfords one which works fine, and ex Citroen spare tire replacement box which is also OK though as yet I have had no reason to use the gunge dispenser and my most recent one a hand held rechargeable bought in Portugal over the winter which is great, covers every thing from the motorhome (though I would worry about inflating from flat) to the bikes. They all cope with the higher pressures for the van with no obvious problems, I nearly bought one of the Ring/RAC ones when I started motothoming but have never found the need
