Long term a few years now.
Im pleasantly surprised about the amount of fuel my van uses. Filled up Canterbury drove to Portsmouth went to Salisbury then back to Chichester just filled up again 55 quid . I dont think thats bad at all for a large van .

Haven't noticed in the UK.. but in France I did notice that diesel wasn't much cheaper and petrol was more or less the same price..

Not many years ago I looked forward to filling up in France.. fuel was about half the price of UK .. not any more..

It's nothing to do with Brexit, it's all to do with the supermarkets taking advantage of a fall in oil prices (which has negated the adverse effect on the exchange rate) to use fuel as a loss leader.

Flash in the pan I reckon
You are probably right there. The traded feedstock prices ( a better indicator than crude price alone) have reduced significantly due to over supply in USA for various reasons, including Canada oil sands back on stream and continued tight oil (fracking) expansion. The Saudis tried to break the small producers by simply pumping but it didn't work.

Here is a good article about oil, though I don't fully agree with the conclusion since we are dealing with what is effectively a finite resource. Plus, with the Chinese economy under stimulus we can see a modest increase.

OR have they?
Brexit opposition said it would rise and so did the BBC as oil is traded in $$$$$$$$$ and the exchange rate is pants.
ASDA today £105.5 unleaded £106.5 diesel
EDIT LPG unchanged at 47.7
What! in Dover the cheapest is £1.11 Tesco and the dearest, a mile away Shell £1.139 gas at the only supplier is 65p BP.
They seem to think that people going to France need to fill BEFORE they go and charge accordingly, us locals seem to have to pay the higher prices. An enterprising French Filling Station needs an advertising hoarding, on the roads into Dover pointing this out.

Not one with a filling station. :( £1.089 here for diesel, with it being between £1.109 and £1.119 nearer P/boro.
106.9 / 107.9 at Sainsburys P/Boro ;)

Edited - Jet Tallington 106.9 for both

Great little App = PetrolPrices.com shows you best fuel prices [UK] wherever you are (y).

It costs what it costs. If you have to have it, you have to have it whatever the price. If you don't want it or can't afford it, go without.

The price of oil has gone from around $60 a barrel to something like $40 over the period since the Referendum I think.

Just noticed it on my way back, £1.07 at the Esso. It was £1.14 when I filled up there a couple of weeks ago. Definitely dropping.
