I have tended to have to search for it in the supermarkets and often only found a few bottles in a chilled cabinet.

Never has been a lot, but we find the long life stuff ok, can't tell the difference to be honest, and it's far more convenient no need to take up space in your fridge and you can buy a load at once and just keep it in a cupboard till opened, we in fact buy in France and leave it in the Van and then even use it in the uk.

LeClerc usually the most reliable place to find a reasonable amount stocked.
As others have said, it's nowhere near the UHT, usually on the end of an aisle in the chiller section.

The OP asked where has all the fresh milk gone... not what "milk" do you use... ;)

JJ
just the same as a genny thread JJ ..

no sooner someone asks what to buy, and some bright spark says "don't waste money.. buy solar .."

and before the end of the day it's developed into a fight :boxing::boxing:

I used to be a milk monitor so know all about milk .. so there :restmycase:

Try different supermarkets. Lidls don't stock it in my experience but Carrefour or Inter Marché should have some but never very much, perhaps a couple of dozen bottles which as mentioned will be in a cooler somewhere. Check the sell by dates before choosing a bottle.

We used to buy it but went uht on the last trip. It seems to have improved, Parmalat was my favourite, no unpleasant taste.

Afternote: We found supermarkets were very good at hiding the eggs as well. :)

I got to the dizzy heights of milk monitor too, but most supermarkets sell fresh milk if you look for it. We have a Carrefour Extra nearby that sells it. They also sell a horrible thing called fermented milk. Usually next to the fresh milk, so be careful you know what you are buying. Fermented milk is not one our favourites.......

We find it's easier to get fresh milk early in the day; later on they often seem to have sold out. As posted above Lidl don't seem to sell fresh at all.

We prefer fresh but always carry some UHT for emergencies.

I'm with Zains Pops - UHT is the work of the Devil. I'd rather drink black tea than tea made with UHT.

I hadn't realized French supermarkets might not carry fresh milk - clearly I'll have to make sure we carry plenty when we do find it! At least you normally get 10 days life on fresh milk these days, in the UK at least.

After the Brexit vote the supermarkets decided that there was no need to stock it, probably returned to the cows.

Looked in the chiller/cooler cabinet first and even asked but was told no fresh & directed to the UHT which I usually can't stand but this seems to be ok.
Tried Lidl & intermarche but non of the others. Will have to stop at a Carrefour sometime.

Busby. Ink monitor ???? Now you are telling porkies. North of the Watford Gap in those days I'm told they were still using clay tablets.

Well I love UHT milk, continental versions better than UK, has to be on the point of freezing on my corn flakes/weetabix/bran flakes/shredded wheat in a morning..........I like a bit of variety:)

I also like fresh milk, semi skimmed of course, has to be very very cold........warm milk in any form is the work of the devil.......................except in rice pudding of course:)
