There is always something going on. Hardly a weekend goes bye without some form of free entertainment.

I love Liverpool it's a wonderful city and as Snowbird says there is always something going on.The waterfront is beautiful and there are lots of free attractions around the city.We are lucky enough to live nearby so go into the city regularly for nights/days out.

Had our first taste as visitors last week, been many times in my old driving days but not the same.
Stayed overnight at Kings dock. Expensive at £15 for just a parking space but handy for the waterfront, dock bars and the town. Needed to be there as we had an emergency appointment at the passport office..

Irene liked the huge Primark

Kids got a bit of a history lesson.

We will be back but with no kids so we can have some late nights :) Maybe even a mini funster meet up ??

Not being born a Scouse it came as quite a shock when I moved up here, but I must admit to loving the place. With the largest collection of museums and galleries anywhere outside of the Capital all free of charge there is always something to do. My grandkids love visiting and apart from Benidorm am sure it is there favourite place in the world. They love going down to the Pierhead, especially when one of the cruise liners are in. Or watching one of the many displays that are always on down there. London may be the capital, but am sure they dont have as much going on down there as they do up here.

I remember some of them well. I went to Liverpool College of Art in the 60s and Ye Cracke, The Phil and The Hole which was along the short cut back to Exchange Station. They all featured in a young mans odyssey travelling back home.
By the way, the Phil used to have escorted tours of the gents toilets for ladies. The tiling and marble is unbelievable and well worth a visit.

Ha ha. The Philharmonic with pink marble loo. Has to be seen to be believed. One of the most ornate pubs in the country. I will be calling in tomorrow for the odd G&T.

I have visited the gents at the Phil (to view the tiling) and it is extremely ornate. We often call at the Phil for a pre theatre drink if going to the Philharmonic, always a great mix of people in there. We are in town tomorrow with friends but will be down on the waterfront.
