Just fitted my 80w solar panel and made entry in roof,I now find my cable ends on panel are too big to go through entry box I will be fitting on roof.Is it possible to remove ends and refit them once through roof or do I buy new ends and fit myself?

Why not cut off the ends, strip back the insulation and connect directly to the solar controller screw terminals?

I have always cut them off and used snap connectors. It then makes it easy to add extra panels if needed at a later date.

I think that I ended up cutting them off and fitting new ones. The ones that I cut off couldn't be refitted.

I bought 5m Solar extension cables which have the 'plugs' on one end and nothing on the other hence making them easy to put through the roof and also long enough to reach and connect to the regulator.

Look on ebay for mc4 conectors as once cot off they're fubaru

If they are the proper connectors then they come off and leave just the sleeve the same size as the cable. You put it through the hole and rebuild them inside.
