RM6401L not working on 12v (1 Viewer)

Apologies if this has been covered before. My RM6401L works fine on gas and mains.
When I press the control panel button for 12v whilst driving it keeps tripping back out.
I have a 2001 Puugeot Pilote with a schaud control panel, shown below.
The number 10 switch is the one is press in and it keeps tripping out.
Any help or advice appreciated.

Sounds like the 12 volt heating element has failed and is shorting to earth. Check it for continuity with a multi meter to make sure. Don't think it's a difficult item to replace.

I will youtube it and hopefully find out how to check it, and what it looks like, haha.
Back of fridge is easily accessed from outside so I will have a poke around. I have a cheap multi meter.
