Staying at the Aires in Gaste (south of Bordeaux) and hubby desperate to watch last stage of tour de France. Went to the 2 local bars & no TV - back to the van all defeated.
Couldn't pick up any French TV so I got sat system up & running (Snipe) not being very hopeful, tried the Maxview on several satellites to no avail so thought I'd give sky box a try not expecting anything when after about 10 mins of 'initialising' lo & behold it picked up UK TV!!!!!!
Was I in hubby's good books for the rest of the day :)
(I still had to cook tea though!)

A bit late, but I may be able to help with that. In the maxview menu, there is an option 'power to LNB' for the snipe, this must be set to yes.
I had the devils own job trying to get any TV, the Snipe locked on, but no picture! Eventually found the option, and hey presto, it all worked. Currently sat in Luxembourg, and my daughter is watching CBeebies! :D
