Turning circle (1 Viewer)

I can't find any info on turning circles so I'm after a best guess off you guys please.

My drive is 3.4 m wide and has gate posts at the end of the drive.

The vehicle is 7m long by 2.35m wide, (bailey 665)

How much room do I need in front of the drive to make a right turn? (without having to wriggle back and forwards multiple times).

It's more the overhang behind the rear axle that is sometimes problematical as when it swings it's a handy gate post/wing mirror knocker; here speaks the voice of experience!

There is not a massive overhang on the Bailey compared with some motorhomes.



I know I can come out at a slight angle and then 7m into the road then swing to the right or left. Its quite a narrow road but I think its do- able!

We had to chop back our hedge a little and take off gates to get our first van in ! Good luck! Each time since we have asked dealers to bring the van and see if it would fit on before we purchased and they obliged !

I think it depends on the base vehicle. My van is on a Renault Master and the turning circle is absolutely terrible.

Hi.
I can see you do not want to spoil the gateway,if it were me,i would take a little off the end of the small hedge with the gate up to it into the garden,reverse in off the main road,past the gate and swing/feed it in. Getting out,reverse into the lane,drive up to the main road and go.

If you intend to keep your MH their permanently, then why not do a garden makeover?? Firstly, get rid of the gates and posts. Then the hedge.

Always difficult to tell without actual road width measurements - camera angles can deceive, but it looks fine to me.

I used to drive a Warwick Duo PVC (6m) and I would be tempted to reverse into that gateway rather than try to execute a 90 degree turn into it. It looks tight for the turning circle to me.

Like this you mean?
There use to be a wall.
All the fence is now fully dismountable and lifts out in seconds.
The new van fits even better.

IMV the only option is as Tea Bag has said, reversing in is better than trying to go in forwards - just as it would be with a parking spot, I don't think you'll do it without at least a couple of forwards/backwards manoeuvres though.

If its still too pratty you could move the gates/posts back a few feet into the drive and then widen the entrance bit leading to it - we have a similar situation at home but our drive entrance is set-back as I've suggested above with curved walls which is good as the road we are on is even narrower than yours .. although our drive entrance is about 3.9m wide!

I agree, I would reverse in and drive out forward. From the gate post to the far side of the road is 6m and the footpath on the far side is 1m wide.

That turn seems very tight to me. At the end of the day, something I'm trying to avoid, is to loose right hand gate post.
