Last week, getting some fuel in central France. I was just filling up when I heard a thump. The thump in question was caused by a Belgian motorhome squeezing up the side of my MH to refuel. The thump was my mirror being pushed back as there was insufficient space for them to come any further forward.
I finished filling and went to the caisse to pay and when I came back SWMBO took some pictures.
The laugh was rather on the other motorhome as they were so close to ours and the pumps on the other side that they couldn't open any of their doors. Eventually I pulled forward very carefully and we got out with no damage.

Good grief. Thats far too close for comfort. You sound as if you took the situation rather well. Much better than I would have.

Glad there was no damage done.

Reminds me of a French MHer we chatted to on an aire, he was used to having an A class but it was nicked last year and he'd replaced it with a low profile coachbuilt, trouble was he kept forgetting that his offside (ie right) mirror was lower than on his A class so had smashed it twice on walls! :D

just looking again at the insane parking and realised we could not have got back in had it been ours, both our doors on UK offside, the scary thing then is he would have had to eother reverse or go forwards before we could have moved o_Oo_O

I would have left him there and gone and had a cuppa for an hour or so to teach him a lesson. I find the Belgians are very inconsiderate drivers.

If you're in a MH why would you do that? what's the rush for fuel?

Why not wait until there is a pump easier to get to?

Edit:..... doesn't matter whether you're in a MH or anything else............... he's just a prat

I don't think I would have been as you. I'm afraid

Coming from a country that can't make up its mind what language to speak, little wonder they find common courtesy so hard to get to grips with

Strange how this is turning into an anti-Belgium tread. I don't think that his nationality has anything to do with him being an idiotic driver or has it?

I doubt his nationality has anything to do with his poor driving, he is just one individual. There are bad drivers everywhere, Belgium, France UK, you name it. To vilify a whole nation on this one incident is ridiculous as is the suggestion that as a nation they lack common courtesy. I have found Belgian people friendly and polite as are most people wherever they come from. I find that if I treat people with respect they return the favour.
