Whilst away this last week we saw some Mh's with what looked like a fixed water inlet for the clean water tank. On ours we just stick the hose in the filler hole but these others seemed to have an attachment that the hose clipped onto.

Any ideas ?

This is something that has been carried over from caravans on some vans, personally I would much sooner have the standard hole as when worn the other inlets can be a pain in the bum

We have the Whale water master system https://www.leisureshopdirect.com/w...e-watermaster-freshwater-caravan-water-system, it will pump from a barrel into the tank or you can run straight from the tank to your taps without putting water in the tank or I believe you can plug in a main fed pipe on a fully survived pitch and switch to either tank or system, tank will fill the tank and system will just supply straight to the taps.

we have the "standard hole" as well, we had the Whale watermaster system on a caravan for 12 years and 10 years on this motorhome and no problems with either.

Something like this maybe?

BROKEN LINK
I use one of these and find it a boon particularly with slow taps.

There are two versions available ..... one has a built in overflow for m/h tanks without their own overflow, but can be used both with sealed tanks and those with o/flow ... the other has no built in overflow so relies on tank o/flow otherwise would cause pressure build-up in the tank and filler pipe.

People appear to invent solutions to problems that don't exist. We have the standard filler and providing the hose has a hoselock type connector on the end I just poke it in the filler and it stays there regardless of how high the water pressure is.

Our last van had a Whale system that I thought was brilliant. Now we have the standard hole in the side that we can fit a hose pipe in and one of these City Water connectors for permanent connection if we stay near a tap.
Best of both worlds.

But what do you do if there is no tap handy.

I have the standard filler & I've added a Whale inlet that connects power to a pump & the output of the pump to my inboard tank. If I need water & don't wish to move I use an Aquaroll & aforementioned pump. Coupled with a pushbutton indoors to start the pump & a gizmo to autostop the pump when the Aquaroll empties it is a luxury filling system. Nearly as good as a watering can .
