Ive just filled up with water, the filler cap came of ok (push in twist anti clockwise ) but wont go back on,?

It just turns and wont grip?, Im currently try the "soke it in boiling" water trick, I did it once for about 10 mins and it didnt work, should I have left it longer? or is it knaXXerd. If I need to replace it, would it be better to repalce the whole unit or just get a new cap, there does not seem to be any damage to either part. It does seem to comprese ok, the lock does turn with the key.

Are you sure it hasn't locked, tried it with key in both positions?
If you need to replace it you can swap the lock barrel over

Ive read your earler posts suggesting that so I did try it with the key position both ways, I soaked it twice but to no avail. the only thing I didnt do was wipe it round with silicon spray, Ive got some wd40 will that do?

there seems to be a lot of very simular caps about, olearys have one thats universal? any ideas if there any good

Silicon it the right thing to use. Its very odd that it spins freely as that would indicate it is either locked or broken if unlocked.
Have you a picture of it?

Should only be able to twist it when locked. It should all turn together when unlocked.

You actually have the opposite issue to the usual fault where it seizes together so locking it has no effect.

Message for Techno funster, firstly thank you for the advice/pictures showing how to replace ZADI drivers door barrel with the aid of a ZADI removal key. Your advice was for a Rapido, but it worked on my Hymer. I had been fiddling for about 8 hours before a kind person pointed me to Motorhome fun, where I found your pictures. Secondly, your advice please, I cannot remove the ZADI barrel from the water tank cover access point. It is spring loaded inwards, I unlock, remove the usual key, insert the removal key and wiggle it and it will not come out. Any thoughts very grateful. Tinbum262
