Shower time limit ? (2 Viewers)

we have a Truma C6002EH and while I find it ok to have a shower as I turn it off between soaping and rinsing but Mrs bu'ckett finds it goes cold on her, now she does not turn off but it does seem to go cold quickly.... I have it on the hottest setting before hand and it is very hot so it is working ok....

So what's the awnser..? A smaller shower head..?

Suggest she does as you do - and turns the shower off in between stages. That's what we do.

When I use showers on campsites it amazes me just how long people can spend in a shower. You only need to get wet, soap up, and then rinse. Mind you I don't have any hair to worry about.

Think the answer is to do the same as you, much as I would like to just let it run it doesn't work that way. Sometimes I rinse my hair off over the sink to get the Last of the soap, with Motorhome sometimes you have to make slight adjustments.

Your boiler probably has about 10 litres of water in it ( about 2 gallons). When you turn the tap on, cold water flows into the boiler and has to be heated up. If you have it on the hottest setting, you will run out of hot water quickly. We found it was best to stagger our showers or at least wait till the water was up to temperature again before the second person gets in.
And, she will have to turn the shower off between soaping and rinsing because all that hot water is just going down the drain.
The boiler in our new van has 25 litres of water in it, we can both have a shower, without turning the water off, one after the other and the water is still hot. We could never do this in our old van.

my shower head has a press button so very easy to stop the flow between soaping down or rinsing off, we don't have a problem but I always let the missus go first so I don't get in the ear in case it does run cold,

@Sas r us We have the same boiler as you. We have never run out of hot water in the shower.
We do use it carefully like you but we also have an ecocammel shower head that most certainly helps a lot.

Get yourselves a Shower head with a Trigger, once you've set the temperature, get wet, soap, rinse, releasing the trigger each time to stop the flow. when you restart the flow again, the water is the same temp.
I've seen trigger/stop/start from a fiver to just over £22. Not quite sure if the fella at Scorrier has them or not

My boiler is the 6002 gas only. We both get a shower only 10 minutes apart. Must be on the 60 degrees setting and up to temperature and left ON. Run the shower until the hot water reaches the head and then adjust the temperature by mixing cold.
Get wet & lather head & shoulders then rinse. Lather rest then rinse. We both have a right good wash and with the Ecocamel shower head only use 15 litres between us

We have a gap so it reheats. With long hair, I rarely washed it in the Moho shower.

Oh and none of the little essentials while you're in there! - I'm on about shaving any 'bits' with the shower running, that's all !

Oh & BTW if it starts going cold just reduce the amount of cold water that you're mixing with it!
I usually get showered second as it's a bit too scientific for the ladies

We bought one of the Eco Water energy shower heads at a show a couple of years ago.. It was about £15 and I was not really a believer ..
But boy ! It is amazing.. I have NEVER run out of hot water since..

Have a bucket next to the shower, and let her do it her way, but ask her to fill up the bucket while she soaps up. Once shower is over, fill the tank back again with the bucket's water! Easy peasy ! I usually put an empty plastic washing liquid bottle. They have a wide top and it's even better to put the water back in the fresh water tank afterwards!
And yes I too have lots of problems having hot water. Not really a problem in summer, but hell.... in winter I get frozen within 2 seconds!!!

Yes definitely and even had one in the house up until fitting a Mira sport that has its own eco head.

Interesting topic, as we both can shower in our Rapido, one after the other and haven't run out of hot water yet by switching the flow off when lathering. Was interested in the advice about the ecocamel shower head but when looking at a picture of the head fitted in ours it looks very similar to the ecocamel one, anybody know if Rapido fit them as standard?

Ours does chuck out a fair bit of water so I'll be getting a Eco shower head, in the meantime it's raining outside so I've locked her out and she's getting a good soaking.....

No I don't think so. Ours doesn't have one. I'm about to order one actually as the one in our Rapido isn't that great.

The one fitted in ours is excellent and looks like the ecocamel one? I will leave it as it works for us and save myself the £24.
