Going over from Newhaven to Dieppe for a week in Hetty the Hymer and would like to stay in northern France but with the option to get a train into Paris for one or two days! Not towing a car so station would need to be reasonably close.

Any thoughts?

BTW you do realise that France will be closed and Paris empty for August - but that's probably the attraction.

Yup!!! That is a big attraction as we do not intend to spend a long time on the roads. However it may be difficult to book anywhere. Happy to just use aires, but chancing that there is a space can be a bit traumatic!

I suspect that you will be spending a long time on the roads but covering short distances. But have a great time anyway,

Agree - I once made the mistake of touring in August! That is why we are looking for a site not too far from Dieppe that has a train station close by

Insurance..

if van left unattended overnight on a site or aire.. it may not be insured...

check the small print,

as far as I am aware, it's only insured when unattended at the address you gave them where you keep it .. be that home drive or storage facility...

Another recommendation for Indigo.

There are better campsites in France but none as convenient for trips into Paris.
