Love mine and wouldn't be without it. Easy to erect and put down by one person in a matter of minutes. Can stand up to significant wind, yes it will bow but so far has always bounced back to the correct shape.

Carol, just need to be aware that the packed size is 5 to 6 feet long, mine just travels on the bed.

We have one and think it's our best buy so far, used it at every site on our trip to Devon, hubby erects by himself no problem, it fits ok on regular cc pitch and we treat as drive away although not attached to van.
We bought online from Robert Dyas for about £147 cheapest we could find.

You can buy nylon blinds/covers that velcro on the 4 sides, we have 4 and block whichever side we think necessary for wind or privacy.

As previous said you can buy the rain/wind covers but as these only attach on with velcro at intervals the rain still does get in at the top of covers. We plan in putting velcro all the way along each top to stop this happening.
If you are looking for something to put up and take down quickly then this is the thing to buy.

It's easy to go back in the bag. Just put the bag over it upside down then flip it over , tuck it in and zip up.

I also have the 4 person one. Great to put up and take down when on your own. It is long as Carol @Cal54 says. When parked and it's not being used mine fits on the floor in front of the driver and passenger seats. Also there is only one side that opens so have to think which way round you want it before you put it up (saves any arguments after it's pegged down). Glad I've got mine.

I personally never refer to it as a gazebo - I always refer to it as a freestanding awning when making any site bookings and have had no problems to date. I suppose it all depends how close you pitch it to the 'van!

We do the same class it as a freestanding awning and have never had a problem as long as it fits on your pitch.

Even if used as an awning at the side of the van? Seems unfair unless larger vans get charged for awnings.

fair or unfair.. not my view ..

some sites say they are a fire risk, can blow away and cause damage.. they are not designed as camping awnings..

if you need an awning better to buy an awning..

there are many that now ban them irrespective of how they are used..

more opinion here

Forrest Camping..

Gazebos – Gazebos up to 3m x 3m are classed as a pitch extra and are charged at a rate of £10 per night. Gazebos must be pre-booked on all occasions.

Gazebos are not permitted at Ashurst, Hollands Wood, Beddgelert and Cobleland during High and Bank Holiday season periods. Gazebos are not permitted at Glenmore during Bank Holiday season periods.

Bookings of two Gazebos or Event Tents (a Gazebo over 3m x 3m) will incur a full pitch price charge. All Event Tents are subject to site manager approval regardless of whether or not they are pre booked.

I don't class it as a gazebo which I visualise as no sides or guys. This is pegged and straps each side.
if it was windy I would take down in seconds and I don't camp bank hols. We have already had in forest Setthorns but that one not mentioned. We've always explained at reception and so far no problems, if one says no that's ok. I'm sure the times we can use outway the ones we can't.

I wouldn't class this as a gazebo but a freestanding awning as it has fixed sides which are pegged down along the bottom edges, 3 side guys and it can also be secured with guy ropes on the top of each corner pole too I believe. A gazebo on the other hand is usually only pegged at the base of each corner pole with a guy rope on the upper corner so can't be secured anything like as well.

I do agree about standard gazebos being banned though - they are basically like having a large open umbrella and we all know what happens to them when the wind gets under them!

Same with MH wind out awnings - unless you have sides and a front on that can make them more 'sealed' to the wind getting in there's no way I'd even consider leaving one up as some do, even with storm straps!
