I had a car, Ford C-Max, for 2 years. A friend asked how I got on with the cruise control, I said it didn't have it. Are you sure, he said.
Anyway, turns out it did have it, I just hadn't realised. D'oh!

Dave fitted mine: I use it every time I'm out (even going up my 200yard street) as it really eases the pressure on my ankle.

Cruise control on my Hymer was a cut down broomstick with a rubber ferrule at each end. Worked a treat on those long night drives on the peage. A few seconds to engage but would disengage in a nano-second when required :)

Just had a look on his site..

All our systems with installation are currently £400 – £460. Cruise control can typically be installed on your vehicle within half a day and as quick as a couple of hours in some instances. http://davenewell.co.uk/cruise-control/

I remember getting a lift in an ex-army Jeep with a hand throttle: the guy stuck a match box in and away we cruised.

My old 407D Race van had a wheel on the dash that you could wind out (hand throttle) not good for emergence stops:whistle:

And with a blanket round your legs in the Winter, good old days eh! I much preferred the Actros Megaspace that I last drove, what a difference 40 years makes:)

I never go out in the motorhome without being grateful for having Dave fit ours. I remember prior to it being fitted just how uncomfortable it would get after a while. Not any more!

Thanks again Dave

All done and dusted ,khizzie now sporting a stick for cruise control . Just a few hours and job was done ,Jackie gave me a pass to the Victorian town and I wandered about there for a while before getting stuck into real fish and chips cooked in beef dripping..Dave gave me the how to and a user guide for the cruise control .not tried it yet as came across country from Telford to Chester..but will be trying it out on m6 soon.

That week is looking like Groundhog day in the diary as I have at least one cruise control to fit each day ;-)
