Aire at Calais port (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any recent experience of using the aire at Calais port. We would like to overnight there in July after coming off the ferry. We used it last September without any problems but wondered if there have been any recent developments associated with strikes, migrants etc.

We last used it just before Xmas no problems and will be using again in 3 weeks

Calais aire yesterday. The MH's are now parking in front of what was the aire and the service point is still there. The toilet building is all that's standing now. There were still plenty of MHs parked and saw no signs of trouble.

It's been scheduled to close for ages. They're going to redevelop it with the old campsite next door.

They will apparently be providing a new aire somewhere out towards Sangatte.

There's nothing left of the site now so they are definitely ploughing ahead.

I think it's going to be some kind of hotel/conference centre type thing. I saw an article about it months ago.

Yes, I seem to remember reading something similar

We stayed there on Friday night. There's now a chap comes around (evening and morning!) to collect the fees.

Its free and probably quieter.
We've stayed there three or four times in the last few months without any problems.

Yeh. Cité de Europe gets our vote. Gendarmerie adjacent means no problems.
