Found a new van that ticked all of our boxes... Not cheap, but it is exactly what we want in a van.

Had an offer from 2 dealers relatively local to us and 2 from further afield. The deal comprised our current van plus cash.

Dealer 1 : Our van plus £47,000 cash
Dealer 2 : Our van plus £44,000 cash
Dealer 3 : Our van plus £40,000 cash
Dealer 4 : Our van plus £33,500 cash

So.....order placed with dealer 4, pick it up in 3 weeks.. .

Sorry kids, but we've spent part of your inheritence....

All the dealers saw the van bar dealer 2. Interestingly- none of them viewed it internally (although it is immaculate..). Was worried about lowest but have had confirmation that the new van is a 2016 van and in fact they registered it today and gave me a new registration number.

Van is a Kontiki 625 ( please no debates about British verses Continental vans..), this van ticks all our particular boxes and we have looked at many many vans.

Thank you, but if I'm honest the dealer put it on a plate and I did'nt have to push too hard.

But we are so pleased and really excited about the picking up the van in 3 weeks.

I will advise dealer once I pick it up. If a good handover etc , then will sing their praises, if not, then will name and shame. It's all very well saving some money, but if lots of problems and poor handover that will be part of the mix
