What pegs do you use to hold them down with?

And how do you attach the straps to the peg?

I thought I knew all about this stuff until last night.

That's the sort of thing I use, but they all came out last night.
I deleted my answer because when I realised there was a second part I realised I know nothing

When we were at Shell Island the other week got talking to a guy with a all singing /dancing tent and the very best of accessories, we remarked on his tent pegs they were flat and strange looking then he said they were £23 for 10, and in a storm a few weeks before when others had come down his had not budged, I'll have a look on internet and see can I find the name .

not long enough
I have got the bloody big peg things, V shaped heavy duty metal, lost the springs somewhere still use the pegs, but attach the ratchet bit directly to the peg

Get decent ratchet straps or they just come loose, I probably have ours too tight, but I reckon better than that an awning wrapped round the motorhome

We are the same, except that we have an Omnistor kit because we have an Omnistor awning.
i use these.....

Find them ok tbh. if it was too windy i'd wind the buggar in!
I have something similar that I made from aluminium chequer plate (pinched the pattern from @SUGGY) but agree on winding in if it is too windy.

I always wind our awning in at night.
Yes, I wind in our awning (when we use it) at the same time as winding up Mrs Deluxe.......

We have a rumpy pumpy air awning which is brilliant, and was even admired by no less than @Tootles himself.....

I have a pair of the big screw in things I think they're for tying dogs too. Screw them right down then a ratchet strap on each corner of the awning connected to the anchors job done. Bobs yer Aunty:)(y) Simples

Been using this system for over 8 years never failed yet.

New convert

Same for us and we also peg the legs down. 2 pegs for each leg, both angled in opposite directions.
Still wind it in if it's a bit windy.
Had a bit of thunder a couple of nights ago. I'd fallen asleep and jumped out of bed (woken by a big clap of thunder),whipped the door open to check the awning was still there.
SWMBO said," what are you doing?". I told her I thought the awning had blown free.( I hadn't realised there was a bit of a storm).

I got called a few choice names for waking her when "it's only a bit of thunder".

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
With matching shoes and handbags.
Of coarse. I mean, would you like to be tied down in a field without your high heals and sussies??

Better still Graham, dont answer that..........
