Living the dream.
We're looking for a pair of lightweight recliners that are "showerproof" enough to be carried externally on our bike rack and don't weigh a tonne please. Any recommendations?

Try them for comfort first. Me and SWMBO respectively 6'3" and 4'11" can't usually find anything that will suit both of us.
Make sure they're covered on the rack or they will get filthy.

Sorry mate, but 'lightweight' is just not you. Try this: :)

Living the dream.
Good point. We went to the local Go Outdoors branch and a caravan dealer, decided on Lafuma Cham Elips Padded Recliner and then looked for the best price on the Internet.
We have a Moho dealer near our static site so had a look see in there as they have a good shop, found some Kampa comfort chairs that we liked so then went out checked various places on't t'internet and they were two quid dearer, but with our CC discount they were bang on. On the plus side they are very light @ 5.2 kg and will fit in our locker (y)
So the deal was done and were sorted. Thanks again for all your suggestions.

Isabella chairs, comfortable and lightweight. We bought ours at Newbury show about £60.

Another vote for the Isabella recliners. Incredibly comfy and featherweight.
A feature which we particularly liked was clip-on leg support which instantly turns your dining chair into a lounger.
Stef.

another vote for Isabella but we went for the Odin chair plus leg rest as its easier to sit up properly to a table.
Tried them at our local outlet but found them cheaper on amazon.

Yes, those are the chairs and leg supports that we had.

Also have a pair of Lafuma recliners.... better described as sun loungers.. can't be beaten for comfort..

however.. down side

* you cant sit upright.. so you also need two chairs or stools for dining.

* they are quite heavy.. and also bulky ..they don't pack easily together

I wouldn't transport outside as they will get sand blasted by road dirt.. the steel tubing will eventually rust

I have yet to find a lightweight sun lounger, with alloy frame and that can also be used as a chair..

Reclining chairs are good.. but they are not a proper sun lounger .

Try the Lafuma Cham Elips Padded Recliner. We wanted the same and found that we can use it at a table and to recline in.

it's very similar to the other two chairs we already have.. in fact I think it's the same chair.. perhaps re branded ..

as I recall they were expensive.. about £45 each.. but had them for at least 20 years.. and still as good as new,..

They do look very similar Jim. £63 each (including shipping) when we bought them 3 years ago.

We have Dukdalf chairs, extremely light and we bought the footrests as well to turn into complete recliners. Bought them off an eBay store which was a camping shop selling ex display models which had been taken to shows but not used. Really pleased with them.

I'm hoping mine do.. !
Hope so - for both of us :D
Just checked Graham.. @GJH

my chairs were made by Lallemand .. which I see mentioned on the Lafuma site http://www.lafuma.co.uk/index.php?p=products&pid=65

and on another site read..Lallemand chairs are now manufactured by Lafuma..
No wonder they look similar :D
On eBay.. great buy if you can collect .. @Badknee
Seconded (y)

Reclining chairs are no good for me, I find they make my eyes close and an hour of the day disappear...
