Cossed over the Millau viaduct yesterday for an eye watering €26 class 3.

Heading North after the toll booths take the next junction and work your way back to the visitor centre for a nice quiet place to overnight.

With a view!!

Not such a good view when you are on it though , could be any road, can't see over the sides, cost us 11 euros class two

€26? That's why we did a detour around it last month. We went over it a couple of years ago, but as we are class 2, it was a more reasonable price, probably around €7 or so. I don't remember it exactly because it wasn't a shock!

Got quite few shots from that area...and a few from the riverside campsite next to the town.

As said, shame about the wind reflectors blocking the view on the bridge.

Amazing feat of engineering, and of course, British designed.

For any who are not familiar with this it is not easy to appreciate the sheer scale if it. If you look at the third upright from the left. Follow it down to bridge level and look slightly to the right. You might see a small blob. This is a vehicle, possibly truck of some kind! It's a tremendous construction.

We were there a few years ago, top tip was not to go over it but to go to the visitor centre and stay in Millau. Lovely place, worth a visit.

We were parked in the visitor aire which is accessible from the town without going over the bridge but you can walk straight through to the visitor centre which is open 10 to 6 and is interesting.

I will add it is not an official overnight stop and no facilities as such other than what is at the visitor centre.

We had a really good nights sleep though, very quiet.

This is the route to the aire without going over the bridge, J45 off the motorway or us D911 out of Millau.

Went over it a few weeks back, paid the toll so Caroline could see it up close as she had never seen it before.

Will do the valley next time as I haven't seen it from that angle.

I spoke to the people in the Airstream this morning, just picked it up the day before from a guy in Vichy who imports them from America, never had a camper before, she said she fancied a VW but couldn't stand up in them so bought that, WOW.

We thought we were going to a Chalons en Champagne today but wasted too much time on N roads and shopping so decided to stop at Troyes, approaching the town I commented to Mrs navigator that it didn't look promising for an old historic centre as there were no Cathedrals looming high over the town, anyway we arrived at a very large car park and walked into town, the car park is the MH mixed parking so this is our bed for the night.

Walked into town and it is fantastic, it has a big Cathedral it just doesn't loom high over the town, it has rickety old town houses and oodles of charm.

Yes that is a McLaren 675 on English plates.

More to follow its tea time.
OK back now, melon wrapped with Parma ham, followed by salmon served with artichoke and vegetables and salad.

As mentioned above, parked in Namur for free BUT €7.5 to use the dump point.

Hanging a laugh.
