Just to let you know it's Radio 1's big weekend at Powderham Castle in Exeter this weekend, it's the 28th and 29th, hopefully it won't cause mayhem on the M5

M5 is always a nightmare around Exeter on a Friday night and this won't help, I'm setting off on Thursday night to Cornwall, hopefully we'll avoid it all

We did that when we lived in Kingsbridge, south Devon, stayed indoors on Bank Holidays.

And it's a Bank Holiday and half term! Joy. If we head anywhere it will be west away from the Exeter area, if we need any shopping in town we will head to Plymouth.

Ive learnt to get up at dawn on a Bank Holiday, walk the dogs then stay at home for the rest of the day.
My daughter and family are towing their caravan Wiltshire to Cornwall on Friday....rather them than me.

Bank holidays are for wage slaves..

I'd rather cut grass then go away on one..

You're right....and I'm one of 'em :(

believe me, it's a huge trade off.. don't be in a rush..

when we were tied to jobs we took every opportunity.. bank holiday or not..

now plenty of opportunities to go away off season but not so much money nor as fit to enjoy it..

We always have a problem booking sites on a bank holiday plus the prices go up!
We're near Taunton so probably a holiday place?
Chaos on the roads for a few months though as they are taking down a bridge on the major route out.
We try not to drive on those weekends though.

We're based in Taunton, the station Road bridge has been a right mess up from start to finish, can't believe somebody didn't check the strength of it before deciding to put a road over there, still never mind only a 2 year delay paid for by the taxpayers again

That's my worry, not enough money and poor health, my back is already struggling and I've got 20 years to go yet

Sounds like the A30 has been the biggest problem today, both ways, hopefully nobody got caught up in that

Yeh! A30 closed, don't know if it still is at this point in time, couple people killed.

Stay safe Funsters, AND! if you are going in the tide(sea) Swim in between the flags, and if you are caught in a rip! go with it! don't fight against it, once in open water raise your hand and await rescue!
