Hi, we are currently heading back from Spain and have arranged to meet up with some friends somewhere along the Opale Coast, Nord-Pas-De-Calais region. Can anyone recommend a really nice campsite somewhere along this coast which is within walking or taxi ride distance of either a vibrant beachfront or a French town/village with a good mix of cafe/bars, shops and restaurants? We all just want to chill out and relax for the last few days together, before we head back home to the uk and our friends are coming over specifically to join us for a short and very much needed mini break! So, for them in particular, where we stay is quite important!
We also have 2 little dogs we need to get treated by a vet in readiness for re-entering the uk - so if you know of a campsite that is in a resort that fulfills all our preferences, then we'd love to hear about it or them.
Thank you.

We are considering Wimereux as a possibility.........
We stayed at Wimereux last week for a night. Nice easy walk into town. Didnt spot a vet but to be honest we werent looking. Am sure there would be one there, sizeable enough place. Beachfront has some very attractive architecture and nice beach huts.

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
Shedloads of sites around and near Berck sur Mer, we've stayed on the (beach) aire and/or the lighthouse one there shedloads of times.

Proper seaside resort, with buckets and spades shops through the whole range via a carousel on t'front to a casino (ie a place to play roulette etc; though I think there's probably a Casino supermarket too! - but you won't need that cos it has the full range of butchers bakers and candlestick makers)

And a superb fantastic golden sandy beach you can walk for miles along, oh hang on - not sure about dogs. Bound to be some Tourist Info on the web.
