Took delivery of a new transit DROPSIDE pickup today, bloody hell is it ugly.
Cab ok, but to be honest would not like it as a MH base vehicle.
Granted it is a base version, a working tool really, but the cab is AARGH, the front reminds me of something I can't put here.

Glad I don't have to use it for many miles.

Looked at the chassis, and it is the same as our old 15 yr pickup.
Suppose no need to alter what sells tho.

But I'm not licking it at the mo, may grow on me, but it's a work tool so does not really have to

I thought the driver position and visibility were fantastic the last time I sat in one.
The tall windscreen is great for taller folks.

Most cabs, including Fiat have you leaning forward whilst driving otherwise you can't see more than 20 yards down the road! You shorter people should try driving everywhere with your sun visors down to get the idea!

I saw one the other day and thought they were not pretty seems they have gone back to longer bonnet like in the I think old mk2 vans. I don't think they will grow on me!

I think they are rather cute like a smoothed off Peppa Pig, not like the chinese deviant looking FIAT with slanty eyes and its awful snout stuck out in front, I think they are so ugly I had to go and buy and A class.

They are soooo ugly. We're told it's for the American Market. Europe is so small, we don't count?

Is the front longer and therefore cost more on a ferry? Just wondering?

I got a new shape Transit, haven't licked it yet and it is fuggly but,
it has 155 BHP and loads of,torques!,
pulls like a train, that's why loads of robbers bought them back in the day!!
seriously it's a lovely, quick, quiet van,was made in Turkey instead of Southampton butmwemcant have everything,Will reserve judgement for a year or so.

Horrible but, if it is as reliable as most older Transits have proved, I reckon not many people will give a damn.

It is quick will agree, but is it me does accelerarator pedal have a slight delay?
Only done 3 miles so can't really comment on performance, comfort etc.
Been waiting 12 weeks for it, had many delays on delivery for a base spec vehicle.

Parked it up at home and went Aargh.

Had transits for over 30 years, the model 2 back they used to call it the smiley face model, this is GROWLING.

That's the big 'if' bit. Made in Turkey ....

As someone once posted, would I buy a van made by someone who rides to work on a camel? (joke)

Can't understand how the engines are built in the UK and shipped to Turkey, then the whole lot shipped back how it can be profitable.

I have just covered 4000 Kms in mine and it took till now to loosen up.
my only complaint so far is that the cruise control drops out on,hills when it looses 10 kph, couldn't be at a worse time, you are cruising along and suddenly you are going slower, necessitating a 2 gear drop!,
Growling, yes,I,get that.mine has had the blue oval Ford removed and replaced with a red Challenger C squirly logo which to me looks a bit,Turkish haha. Will probably refit the Ford badge as proud of its heritage.Sure yours will loosen up pretty soon.

Got mine in November '15 and was built May 14 in Turkey so chassis and battery etc was 18 months old when I got it " NEW".
Understand it,took time to get it back to France and Trigano to fit the body etc.
Engine mounts were rusty?? but a coating of ACF50 has them shiny again, have had Citroen and Fiat campers but have to say this, drives, rides and feels real good.
