Hi Everyone, my son bought a 1982 Hymer last week, its has a Ford engine and the seller told him it was an A Class but that's all we know.
There are several things that need fixing, such as headlight glass but we do not know what model this is. When we look up the number plate it comes up as a Ford Transit, camper van. I have attached a photo, if anyone could help us with details I would appreciate it. Thanks Andrew

There's an excellent Facebook group called Clasic Hymers, maybe see if they can help? Think you have to "join" ( be approved?) by them before they let you post but seem to have a wealth of collective knowledge about older Hymers.

It's a Hymer B class. that model was introduced in 1982 .. but as far as I know they were Mercedes chassis and engine... or Fiat .. yours looks like a Mercedes model..

could be wrong of course..

this may help identify.. http://web.archive.org/web/20100706162748/http://www.dmiuk.com/sale_hylay.php

A quote from one of your links Jim, it surprised me I never thought they had build any B Class vans on Trannies.
