They can get away with it because they're not registered / regulated with the FCA or FCSC & can claim anything they want really.

There's a few good quality P2P lenders out there where you're money will be safer - albeit the returns far less than Harewood claim, but better than many banks can offer.

Moneysaving experts comments look grim
Mines in Santander, under the bed, in a couple of safes, under not so obvious places. Some in wine bottles (empty) but the real money comes from my professional contacts no in cash weekly.

This is such an informative site ..... such as the thought about zopa which I'll go investigate ;) but this topic is just a sad reflection of where we seem to have got to as a country ...... There's gazillions of ££ getting pumped into banks by the UK treasury and damn all of it is finding its way into the real economy ....... you know, you and me, small and medium businesses, folk who generate real money by you know making stuff and selling it. It's getting siphoned off into the stock market to make money for the select few. Maybe some of it is finding its way into pension funds but after all the fees and suchlike I'd doubt much finds its way back to us.
Meanwhile it's us mugs that's paying for it ...... sod all interest on any savings we might have; we pay extra at the pumps and shops for stuff we buy day to day, no pay rises and zero hours contracts. Bring back the 70's and 80's ......... rampant inflation, strikes, 3 day weeks ah those were the days ....... DOH!!:tmi:
