hi guys,

Hoping our new motorhome arrives soon and want to get away Spring bank holiday, I know it's a bit late but until get a delivery date don't want to book a site.
Anyone got any suggestions where we can go in the Midlands so we can try it out, that may have room but would allow a cancellation if the motorhome doesn't arrive?

Thanks
Andy

If you're not a member already join the CCC and then you can go to a rally or THS as no need to book so no cancellation necessary.

You could go on Lyndon Top, it's at Rutland waters, think there is a ccc rally, but if your not a member, you can still book on, plenty of room

You know what - I'd truck on down to Lyndon Top at Rutland.
It's the complete opposite of a fully featured site, it's basically a field (well lots of them) with no 'facilities' except water & dumping, on the banks of Rutland Water.
Plenty of space, no booking necessary, stay as long or as short as you like.
£7 a night and no rules about which way to face.
You'll learn a lot about your van, and there's as much or as little as you might vwant to do on a bank holiday break.
Lyndon Top is a favourite with funsters for good reason.
My two-penneth.

Regards Steve.

And you forgot to mention that it's only a 30 min drive from langtoft:D

...and it's why - after good advice from the sage burghers of the forum - I went there in my first ever outing in my new MH a year ago.
Beautiful location, plenty to do, enforced reliance on my MH's facilities... but close enough to runaway home if it all went pear shaped (it didn't)
;)

Thinking of doing the same thing myself ,I've got mine parked at the cassoa site just up the road from you ,just waiting on plates then it's play time

@laird of Dunstan
Thought you had a shakedown run to Vanbitz to get toys fitted.
Are you at that place at Katesbridge?
If so, how do you like it - convenience, price etc?

Edit:
Perhaps PM me rather than go completely off topic on Andrew's "Where to go" thread.

Yes I'm at Kate's bridge ,the security is good and the price reasonable ,from memory it was 280.00/for the year.
I've had the MH out twice once to van bitz and then to the show at Peterborough, yet to go to a site and try it out properly .
Was at langtoft today fixing the MIL,s car

Thanks for your advice, may have a run to Rutland, would be good to be at a rally as there would be plenty of others there to ask advice and be shown the ropes.
Cheers.
