We left Peterborough about 11am had a easy run up the A1.m with a couple of stops done 170 miles and stopped for the night at @BritStops 751 a nice Organic Farm Shop (off to do some shopping) . Tomorrow we will have a night at CCC at Keswick, then we will start making our way up to the North Coast 500, sun out but a bit windy. :)

Yup - we are heading up to the Summer Isles in May - hoping it is a little drier than the same time last year ........

We never seem to have much of a problem with midges when we go up to the Highlands in May - now I'm tempting fate!!!!

We've been thinking about doing this route for months now, because we have a wedding to go to in the lakes in mid June, thought we could just carry on up North and have a look around.

We have had two very good days in Keswick taking in the sunshine just sitting listening to a guy playing his guitar and singing, then strolling along the river, seems unbelievable that a lot of it was under water not so long ago.
Up handy this morning and on the road at 8.45 Just crossed the border heading for Arisaig today.

Silversands at Arisaig is also on the beach and a very popular campsite.
Are you looking for a campsite or are you gonna wildcamp?

Excellent, looking forward to your updates, getting your trip in before it sounds like half the forum are heading up in May :)(y)

Hi David, we will be doing the 500 but with a few detours like today 270 miles Keswick to Arisaig :)

Nice pic, looking forward to your adventure and will be doing it ourselves as soon as we can.

Liz
Will give your new van a good run, stunning views

Welcome to Bonnie Scotland (y) Enjoy

Thank you loving it.

Hi agree it's one of our favourite places we are on a camp site just a bit further on that we love, right on the beach, about 3 steps from the van and we are on the beach, ponies wondering around, quite rustic its Invercaimbe we have been going there for years :)

@irnbru we are doing a mixture, some wild some sites (y)

Loving the updates - we're planning something similar in June.

Hopefully you may get some info (y)

Love it Carol, jealous and excited for you, I so love Scotland

Years ago we had an amazing family holiday while staying in Arisaig, back in tugging days, took a boat trip to Staffa and Rhum, the highlight of the trip was literally passing over a Minke whale, a truly amazing day for us

love the pictures (y)

Looks fantastic. We did it the route in July 2014 same week as the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and had some fantastic weather, it was to hot for the midges although they did sneak out later in the evening. Greta piece of advice we got was to do Applecross from North to South. Initially I thought this strange however after doing the route, which has some of the best views you can find, would also pass the same recommendation. enjoy and I look forward to following your travels. Today we have spent like a couple of teenagers (old ones I know )walking the beach looking in Rock Pools and generally messing around, somehow this place just slows you down

Hi Kate. I've pinched Eddie.s phone to put some more photos it's a campaign site literally 3 steps from the beach. It took of a hour and half to walk it and it's more or less private for the site quite Rustic though.
