I already have a trailer for Peugeot 107 toad for Eu travels but am thinking an A Frame would be less cumbersome in UK. Any ideas please

A Frames

[IHi Larrynwin

]They all do the same job...keep the toad behind us, so we went local, just in case we needed a call out, and that was Chris Cox at Birmingham, quite keen on his price which was also a help.

No we have never had to call him out, its a great piece of kit.

I would choose local to you, if possible.

Hi,

We have a Car-A-Tow from Car-a-tow towing frames specialists | For the modern motorcaravan owner and find it very easy to put on and take off,

I did look at the alternatives which do look better e.g. those with the small round eyelets but it appeared more diffecult to thread the rod through rather than just hook the bars of the "A" frame onto a ready mounted bar, hope that makes sense

We have been looking at A-frames for our Smart car, at the Newbury, Stratford and Malvern shows. We have seen the Car-A-Tow unit and have spoken to them about their product, so far we have been most impressed by them and will probably have one fitted next year.

i also spoke to them at malvern regarding the proper setting up of the brake system.
fully explained and even supplied 4 new rubber washers for the pull bar and a bungee for between the pedal and seat frame to help pull the pedal pack up.
advise and parts all free of charge.:thumb:

towing A frame

I lookeed around for a while, spoke to a few towers, and in the end I chose the caratow.I am glad I did.I got it fitted by M.T.H.in Falkirk who did a brilliant job.The car was ready on time.I would recommend them to any Scottish potential customers.I am highly delighted with the fitting and also the look of the caratow and the way it handles.

Hi Larry, we are in Colchester, you are also welcome to inspect mine at any time..

just give me a PM if interested.

Fitting costs are on the Car A Tow website .. depends on car, but IIRC it's around £850 including the electrics ..

mine was £120 on Ebay......new brake cable assembly = £30ish, trailer board to rob lights off (which i never used)= £12 and the rest was 'salvaged' from my garage.
£162 all in and a weelk of evenings to glue it all together but i appreciate not everyone has the ability/desire to self fabricate stuff so a fitter will be needed.

not many regular garages will undertake this due to the legal implications should anything go wrong....they fitted it, they're to blame it came off.
