not long enough
I put a photo on 'Photo of the day' yesterday, don't want to overload that thread, so starting a new one here

Last weekend I said to Bev, 'the frogs are late this year', then I went away for 2 nights, came back to plenty of activity, hence the photo, now 24 hours later the sun today has brought out more frogs than we have ever seen in our pond and already there is masses of spawn

It looks like you are overrun with them.

Jen wouldn't be happy, scared of frogs.

I will try for a better photo for tomorrows update, the pond is about 20' x 10', the frogs are only in the plants on the shallow edges, the fish are already queuing up for the spawn

Then the blackbirds wait for the tadpoles

Plenty seem to survive though, I am always 'saving' little froglets from around July on when I mow the grass it comes alive with them sometimes

SWMBO was so scared of frogs, that to get from the back door and down the lawn to the car, she used 2 garden chairs and literally lifted one in front of another stepping along as she did :)

Took her over half hour and great amusement!!! :)

Had to carry her on my shoulders in Bermuda, as the giant cane toads came out at night and blocked the route to the apartment!!!

Love the pictures!!!! :)

Does anyone else call frogs Jeremy's or is it just our weird family thing?

I have loads in my garden as well.

I don't know where they live but they are hanging about in my lawn.

Sadly they haven't yet learnt that mowers are dangerous:(

Sadly they haven't yet learnt that mowers are dangerous:(

I do mow mine quite slowly, keeping an eye out in front of the mower for movement but have found the exhaust gives just enough puff to move the grass in virtually the same way a frog does when it moves, so I do stop a lot for nothing

I have on occasion found a little unharmed froglet in the cuttings when I tip them out :)

I hate it when I hurt something like that, it has just reminded me that most years at least one frog has got its leg stuck through one of many of the holes in the pond pump case, unharmed but completely stuck and swollen up leg, the only solution I have found is amputation by chisel, at least they get away and I don't find them dead, but haven't noticed a three legged frog either for that matter

we have drifted into territory where the smilies don't have the right option

do others struggle with 'liking' something that really you maybe shouldn't and 'thanks' 'funny' and 'useful' seem equally wrong

I have found myself using 'informative' in a way teenagers use 'whatever'

Both of these have been seen eating frogspawn, must be a delicacy for some (y)
Very high protein, I would imagine (although I have forgotten most of what little food science I absorbed at college).

I'd want a sprinkling of salt on mine though, I think.

Its a long way to come to get it, but we have more than enough to share with as many who want it, frogs still really going for it today, we will literally be over run soon (y)
