Currently in the market for a motorhome with bunk beds. Probably end up being coachbuilt but would consider a-class. Looking at things like the swift escape 696, CI 707, Auto-trail 725 etc.

A few around we're going to look at over the next few days but always good to buy from a genuine enthusiast :D

A few years back we had a CI Mizar GTL Living with rear bunks. Nice van well put together. There's one on ebay at present Broken Link Removed, (overpriced in my view) but may be worth consideration.

Had indeed seen that on the 'bay and quite liked the look of it. It's in NI afaik which is a bit of a trip for us. Did think the price might be a bit strong but this seems to be a theme with a lot of sales.
How did you find the front diner with the cab seats swivelling?

Ok, but as with all coachbuilts utilising the cab area it could be a bit draughty at times. This obviously is not the case so much with an 'A' class, however, the compromise is that you lose your dinning area when the bed is down in an 'A' class.

The table did have a tendency to move whilst travelling too so you had to be sure to give it a good tighten up.

Personally, (and through experience) I'd steer clear of the 'A' class variants whilst you have children travelling with you. The drop down bed eats into your internal living space dramatically and once its down you'll lose your lounge and probably most of your kitchen. Fine if you all go to bed and get up at the same time!

Good tip on the a class. Think it'd end up being coach built anyhow due to availability and budget.

We are contemplating getting an A class with single beds in the back which will convert into a double for when we are using it. When we plan to take the Grandkids away we will use the drop down bed over the cab with the kids in the singles in the back.

In that way the adults can still use the lounge kitchen and cab whilst the kids sleep in the back and in separate beds as opposed to a double above the cab area.
