We drink cheapo Sainsburys (other brands are available) water at 17p a bottle rather than filter the drinking water. Decided that although the water filters are very attractive, the costs simply outweighed the benefits. Would like one though, but I'm saving up to buy GJH lunch......... Might install one at home, though.

Mike, just remembered I have one of the 3M filters in my shed if you are interested ... I removed it from the m/h because I was having problems finding replacement filters at the time.

Fit a nature pure to an additional tap if possible.....why would you want to wash the dishs in filtered water.
The filters have a finite life and filtering ALL the cold water will shorten that life....and replacement filters are around £60 a pop now.

Depends what you want the filter to do, if just to get rid of tainted taste & chlorine the cheap ones are fine, I have £17 Whale one in line with the kitchen tap works well at removing taints.

Been looking into filtering our water after a couple of fills in France with chemical smelling water. Nature Pure is the popular one it seems, but we have came across a 3m cartridge that seems to do the same job (maybe slightly better even ) and costs less both for fitting and replacement cartridges, and has cheaper cartridge options if you do not want the 0.1 micron filters but a 1 or 5 micron. It is a 3m E2 Microbial reduction filter (Link Removed) Broken Link Removed, it uses an AP3 inline head which can accept a variety of filter cartridges it seems.

Just wanted to check if anyone uses this type or looked at it in the past?

We have for 20 years had a bog standard filter to serve the tap we use for drinking water. The tank fresh water is sterilised twice per year and the filter renewed. This applies to 4 new m/ homes over that period. Have travelled France, ltaly etc and never had heath problems from drinking local water. Any tummy problems usually the result of fire water over indulged.
My job required me to be aware and informed regarding this issue.
