I reckon a coachbuilt or A class is a motorhome.
An RV is....... well an RV.
A panel van conversion, Trigano, Auto Sleeper, IH etc etc, is a campervan.
????????

LONG gone i'm affraid!!!!!!!!

Caravenette......uuugggghhhhh:Angry::Angry::Angry:
almost as bad as 'ice cream van'

In the '70's and '80's the common term was Motor Caravan - the use of Motorhome generically came about during the '90's............

the Aussies and the Kiwi's have always called them Camper vans.........

the Yanks - RV's........... but then they have always had difficulty spelling the English language:winky:

Like anything else its just a name, expect in them days they were proud to be owners of a caravanette. I think camper vans is a fair description of what it is,doesn't matter which you like they are all basically the samehardhat

Quite like Mobile Tupperware what do you think:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:hardhathardhathardhat

A Woosh bang
The American generic name as we all know is Recreational Vehicle (RV) which is anything from a folding trailer tent to an A or C class which they call a motorhome..

my understanding is as follows

Camper van .. a converted panel van, or B class

Motor caravan .. coach built, C or A class

Motor home ... American term for a luxury home on wheels that you can live in, any class.

but they (the yanks) have now muddied the water with C+ and B+ classes

Caravanette .. = to wind up Pappa and Zazkar :roflmto:

or yes.. and

Dormobile .. Manufacturer of camper vans .. at one time used as a generic name for any camper van..
