There's an ACSI campsite in Sitges, to the south of Barcelona, which was reasonably cheap at €14 per night. There's a bus stop outside and the buses go directly into the centre of Barcelona. Sitges itself is also worth a visit with pretty winding streets and restaurants on the seafront.

An excellent train service runs along the coast to the East of Barcelona with camp sites in many of the coastal towns. These trains go into the centre and are very good value.

We did it 2 years ago staying at Santa Suzanna, but that was winter & this was the closest site we found open. When you plan to go there should be more choice.

Greetings,
For my first post on this site can I offer that at Blanes (50kms north of Barca) the bus Co and the Train Co offer an all inclusive ticket that takes you from the Bus Styation to the Railway Station and then the rail to Barca Ret. for about a tenner.
Its a good day out without the stresses of trying to get into the city in your own transport.

Hi

We stayed here over Xmas for a 2 night stop over en-route to the south of Spain, this is in BLANES slightly to the north of Barcelona:
Link Removed its on the ACSI DVD

You can see in the picture at the top of the screen, thats the railway station Blanes to Barcelona:

ACSI link to campsite : Link Removed

Its about 30 mins by train but very cheap only a couple of Euros, the campsite was EXCELLENT! Use GPS co-ordinates though, it was tricky to find at night.
I would be very comfortable leaving our bus there while being a tourist around Barcelona, the gate is manned 24 hours and barrier.

Hope this helps

This is not Blanes that's further North.

This site is the one I mentioned in a previous post, it's at Santa Suzanna, on the beach.
