What was your max GW before your adaptations?

We are currently 3650 kilos but could always do with more if the cost is not prohibitive.

From memory the van was plated at 4005 kilos so we've added 495 kilos of payload and upped the rear axle which is where the weight problem tends to be. A front axle is not the one that gets overloaded! Ours is the Fiat Ducato Maxi chassis and was never ever anywhere near as low as yours at 3,650!

SvTech will tell you what you can do and how far you can go.

The van was useless to me at 4005 kilos and I couldn't sell it like that. If I can get a couple of years use for what I paid I'll be happy and the tyres needed changing anyway so it's only really cost the SvTech fee and the Dunlop air suspension kit!

Sounds like you have the same chassis as us, and it is a job that we have on the to-do list, may I be rude and ask what the outlay was?

Not rude at all but I'll need to look it up so may be a day or two!

Bought Dunlop suspension kit from Marcle Leisure for Ducato 250 Maxi chassis current price is £371.13 without any extra guages which I don't have or need. Fitted myself and it was pretty easy. I was 63 at the time and regard myself as competent at DIY.

I have heavy duty axle stands and a hydraulic jack which you need for safety but you could hire these.

Need to check cost of SvTech but think it was £300 to £350 or thereabouts. I will get back to you but that price was nearly 2 years ago.

SvTech charged £312 including VAT back in the Spring of 2014 and within one year you can go back and have a second bite of the cherry with them without additional cost.
