I think he just didn't see the queue in front of him, then braked much too hard, all happened really quickly and appeared one hell of a lot closer than it does on the video

As we passed them his female partner was giving him grief, no need for us to stop and add anything :)

@Anthea M we had a great time, maybe a few too many miles, but it was good to prove the engine was sorted :)

Dash cam was one of @Jaws

Great package, only about £40 by the time you add a data card

Plug in and turn on, that's dead easy

Due to my complete lack of technical skill getting the file off the card needed help, I also hadn't thought about carrying a spare card, so if you want to, or worse need to keep the data, you can swap cards and keep camera in use, bought an extra card in France, a 32Gb stores well over 24 hours of film (y)

i think that its just the french way of driving ,they all think that they are potential racing drivers

we generally think they seem to be improving, but did see 2 serious crashes this trip, both with cars upside down, we always seemed to see really serious accidents years ago when travelling in France

the old priorite a droit had a lot to do with it I reckon o_O

I'm sorry but what are you saying was a close call , as far as I can see nothing really " happened " never mind a close call ?

Having a bad day?

From my position on the day, as I have already said it does look a lot less dangerous on the video, when a car suddenly locks up and crosses directly into your path about 150 feet away, with a closing speed of over 100mph, it appeared more than 'nothing' from where I was sat (y) I really expected him to hit the barrier and come back onto the road

But thanks for looking, your comment is slightly harsh, but it is your opinion :)

Good video of a potential incident to your van. The dash cams are now a necessary part of the driving kit.

I had a close shave last year going into the supermarket at Nogaro. The camera was running, but I never checked it back. It was some young thing cornering fast and well over my side of the road, he gave me an expression that told me he would deny all. It certainly would have helped if there had been contact (it was relatively low speed, I had stopped when I saw what was happening)
