Is there supposed to be a washer on the high pressure pipe connection that goes from filler to bottle, on the connection at the filler ?

I've fitted a new LPG bottle and filler point in van, I was supplied with rubber hose from filler to bottle but didn't see any washer so have fitted the pipe onto filler and can't seem to get a decent seal.

If there is supposed to be a washer will a fibre (water) washer do ?

or are they made of different material ?

Looking at the pic i would say that is a compression gland.
No washer needed as the olive will nip onto the copper pipe in the same way a water fitting does.
The nut does need to be fairly tight to compress the olive.

Or it may be a brake pipe type flared end which also needs a fair bit of force to seal properly

No washer needed as it should seal on the taper, the pipe has a loose nut that tighten in the back of the taper part.

use plenty of soapy water and 5ltr part fill on first filling, you soon find if there tight enough.

As others have said that is for copper pipe+nut & flared after . You stated in op that you had been supplied with rubber pipe ? Which obviously won't connect to that fitting .

No the pipe is correct, it has been supplied by seller. I'll just have to get the wife on it LOL!!

If your talking about an orange rubber hose this is only for the low pressure side of the system eg regulator to the inside of the van .you should get a made up flexible pipe with the fittings on
