Which battery jump starter (1 Viewer)

Hi, I am seeking to purchase a batter jump starter. I have a Swift Sundance (2.3 ltr). Anyone got any recommendations please.
I'm considering the following.

I bought one and have had it about a year. I works fine IF you can get a good grip on the clamps. I have found the live clamp difficult to get a good purchase on due to the crap that is in the way. effect is the clamps on the leads that come with the 4000 don't have good contact or can slip off when you are trying to start the van

I have one of these from Sealey, sturdy and compact bit of kit with 1600 peak amps. Battery clips are stored in their own space and are serated giving excellent purchase on the battery terminals. My wife's car is a 2 door convertible which only gets used in the spring/summer time and the battery is often flat when you go to start it ( Alarm, tracker etc soon flattens it), this power pack starts the car with no issues, it is a 3.5 litre v6.

I have the Sealey unit. It starts anything including 4.5litre V8 . I often put it onto cars that have been standing for a while just so I don't kill the car battery when starting. I have also helped a number of stranded people at airport car parks! If you're in not rush you can just plug it into the vehicles cigar lighter (rather than use croc clips) which can be easier on vehicle electronics.

NB the one you looked at on Amazon is 24v!

We have an Antigravity Microstart XP10.Cranked over and started our 2.7 turbo diesel just fine when van was left standing for a while and the battery was flat. They are not cheap !!

I have the antigravity XP-10 as well as the XP-1 and they get left in our cars for emergency use only. Only issue I have with these small jump packs is that they need to be as near full as possible before trying to jump start a vehicle, though the enclosed literature does state this, so worth topping up the charge on a monthly basis. I think I will sell the two antigravity jump starter packs as the sealey unit does everything that I need. JMTW.

If you are able, a Clarke 4000, or a Sealey Jump starter or a Snap On (I appreciate these are very very expensive) will do the trick. A 2.3, 2.5 or bigger Diesel will take some cranking juice from a jump starter to get going.But please don't buy a Halfords jobbie for about £20. For our vans they will be a complete waste of time and only good for Petrol engines. The other thing to worry about is that some of these starters are very very heavy too. 20kgs+ all the cabling. Good luck on your search.

I bought the Clark battery pack jump start 900 from Machine Mart @ £65 and use it for the winch on the trailer the tyre compressor pump if needed to jump start the van it has plenty of power a really good bit of kit.

Have needed it a couple of times and always done the job and at £90 is cheaper than a call out or messing my car electrics up.

In all our years of motor homing, I have never needed one, so I'll have to go with neither. I do have some jump leads in the van, but never needed them either!

I would suspect that 17.2Ah SLA battery, will struggle to boost anything bigger than a Smart car?

I have started a 6.4L Chevvy T-D. Using jump leads and the Toad car. (on the A frame of course!!???)
