I see another show is on at the NEC late this month. But is it going to be any different to the last one ?
I also see the they put Motor Homes last in the title ! How very dare they ? Surely we should come first ? :ROFLMAO: Do they not know the pecking order ? I mean we can accept tuggers and tenters not escorting us from our vehicles under an umbrella if it rains ( Trust me it always does in Brumigum in February) and not rolling out red carpets but last in the title ? :D

Seriously though is this show worth a visit or is it just more of the same ?

I'm pretty sure I've been told in the past that there tends to be more accessories in February than October. We've never been in February previously (3 times in October, including last year) but are going this month just because we fancy the trip and a single day last October wasn't quite enough. We've booked a pitch on the temporary site for the Wednesday/Thursday/Friday nights so we can attend the show on both Thursday and Friday.

I believe the October show is supported by the manufacturers but the February show is just the dealers so they don't have as much cash to flash on big stands hence the padding with accessories.

We went to the Caravan and motorhome show at the S.E.C.C. in Glasgow yesterday and must say it was very disappointing !! gets smaller each year, one of the halls completely taken over by static homes.
There was maybe around 20 dealer stands selling caravans, campers and motorhomes.
Very poor show from traders !! not a lot there, Only one real shop !! there and even they did not have a lot of stock, plenty of tents and awnings for motorhomes and caravans, like the air beam type !! but bloody expensive !!
Took in our own rolls a flask as no way I am paying the rip of charges for a wee bite to eat.
The only positive thing for us was that we have changed our motorhome from a Autoquest 175 to a Autoquest 155 to allow us to be able to take our granddaughter away for weekends now and again.
Delivery is in May.

In the past the word "motorhome" wasn't even in the title of the Feb show! I broached this with them and was told it was to differentiate the autumn show from the spring show. I suggested they call one the "Autumn Motorhome and Caravan Show" and the other the "Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show".

It's actually a good show, and still much bigger than any of the outdoor shows. If you want to see all of it you'll probably need a couple of days. Or make a good plan of attack before going by using the online exhibitor listing and plan of the halls.

We're there on stand 3029 in Hall 3, btw ;)

Is there much difference between the one this month at the NEC and the one held last month in Manchester?

Only been to the Manchester show once a couple of years ago, but from memory it was a lot smaller than the NEC show in Feb. There are five show halls at the NEC.

Steve I have been to the NEC many times so I know its a big old place. But I asked about this show in particular as I haven't been to it before.
Shows at the NEC are expensive. Its hell to park and they charge plenty for the privilege . The food is at best rank and so expensive I would rather starve .

But none of that matters so long as there are plenty of stalls and stands to have a good mooch round .. (y)(y)

Parking for the motorhome shows is free.

Agree about the food - we'll be taking a picnic.

Not sure about that.
An adult ticket at the NEC show is £8 if booked in advance, the same as Warners charge at Peterborough.
We've found parking easy in van or car and (though there are charges for some events) it is free for this show.
Last year we stayed at a hotel so didn't have the opportunity to take sandwiches (which we had done before) so bought food there. True it was expensive but far above rank :)

As far as I can recall, parking is free at the NEC, and entry price on the door is £10 (Manchester was £9.50). If you buy tickets in advance they are £8.

Food can be expensive, it's true.

Steve :)

Edit: just seen Stroppy Bird and Graham's posts - beat me to it!

We are going up on the Friday and I'm really looking forward to it. I love browsing the stalls and particularly the reps from the overseas campsites. Agree about the food but we usually settle for Subway. Can't wait to have a nosey at the new Motorhomes...Ron is particularly keen on the new Chausson. Watch this space!

It used to be known as the Boating, Caravan and Motorhome Show but it was never much cop. We were boaters then. Have been since and IMO its still wasn't much cop. OK if you want to buy a teflon coated knife set or miracle boot polish then you will be in you element.

Sorry I haven't been clear...

Whenever I've been to car and motorcycle shows the parking has been awful and expensive.

To be clear and fair I haven't been to more than one MH show so it was unfair of me to jump the gun and say what I did above re these shows.

I apologise for and withdraw my comments above.

We like the October Show as that is when most motorhome manufacturers are launching their new UK models so lots on display & can often talk directly to the manufacturers on their stands who know their product rather than just the dealers sales staff who often don't. This was very helpful when we bought our Chausson as we even persuaded them to include the 4th bed extension for free (y) on top of the Show deals & dealers negotiated discount :) We only went to have a look... Haven't been to the February Show but understand that it doesn't have so many motorhome manufacturers attending however probably still a good day out especially with the chance to try lots of layouts.

Starting to get ready for this show now.
Van is all serviced so we'll be putting stuff back in over the next couple of days.
Pitch at the CC site booked, tickets for Thursday booked using CC discount code and C&CC voucher printed for buying tickets on Friday.
Looking forward to it as the first trip of 2016 (y)

Getting better month by month.
Bought at the October show, so using the Feb show to stock up on accessories I wont use and will find at the back of the garage someday. Also use the opportunity to talk face to face with suppliers and fitters etc to ask questions on alarms, gas, solar and of course get my First Britstop book without the P&P.(y)

Every time I go to a show I end up buying another bloody shower head - not sure why, it's not as if the ones I have are not working....
You haven't been to the show if you haven't come home with something you didn't want or that looked so clever when the guy demonstrated it but is impossible to use in real life!
