Hi,

I don't know whether anybody else has made a post regarding these, but I bought a couple, and have fitted one. The 'beep' is excellent, and they are very easy to fit!

In my opinion, they are a great idea, BUT totaly illegal except on commercial type vehicles over a certain weight, motorhomes do not qualify.

I have them but cant here them when reversing, I am 34 ft away from them.

What does annoys me is people who do walk behind any reversing vehicle, surely 50% of them are drivers so must realise that you cant see in every direction while revering.

It's one of my real hates:Angry:

Come on, John - most of the drivers that I meet when I am out in my RV can't see ahead of them - let alone behind them!

And very, very few of them can 'read' the road in order to take action before they have to.

How many people do you see speeding up the third lane of a motorway even though you can see a bank of red lights spread across the entire width of the motorway?

Jim's photograph of the man with his head stuck up his bum is very suitable here - people only see what they want to see - everything else is blocked out.

IMHO, safety comes first. can't see anyone being prosecuted for fitting/using one. best way to wire is between reversing light and tail light. then only works when lights switched off.

Hi,
I fitted a "proper" one of these some years ago and when correctly wired it works with lights off, cuts out when lights on and works again with lights AND rear fog light on:whatthe: don't ask me why,
Regards,
Chris

reversing beeper

they look a good idea.
they may wake someone up who is daydreaming behind your van.
i'd leave yours connected as i can't seriously see you being prosecuted for using them.
i just shout out of the window, or use mrs bevo at the back.
