Hi everyone

Thanks for all the well wishes we have received over the last few weeks.

Thought it was about time we updated you.

We found a brilliant company in Romford called Hales Commercials.

They have been extremely helpful and accommodating, working hard to ensure we dont miss all of our holiday away in the motorhome.

We are insured through Adrian Flux who this year put the insurance out to Equity Red Star.

Adrian Flux have been very helpful. The assessor attended and inspected the vehicle on the road outside our house and Adrian Flux arranged a speedy transportation of our motorhome which was done without them grinding the back out when loading it.

Hales Commercial sourced the parts and were given the go ahead on principle by Equity Red Star.

I phoned today hoping to collect tomorrow to be told that Equity Red Star had told them to stop work and that they were arranging a cash settlement with us? First we knew about it.

So I phoned Adrian Flux asking why on earth they would collect and deliver a vehicle to a garage, knowing we were due away on holiday and then want to agree a cash settlement with us.

The works cost just under £1,000 and Equity Star were apparently in the process of sending a cheque (without our agreement) for just £350.

After a little two and froing, we have now been told that the works can continue and they will pay the garage.

So just be careful when claiming on the insurance that you know what is going to happen. Everyone was making decisions but no one apart from Hales Commercial was communicating with us.

Fingers crossed we will have our motorhome soon.

As an aside to he who 'can still makes beds rock' or so he boasts!:roflmto:

What infuriates me with Insurance Companies and Joe Public is that when they want to do a 'write off' they invariably off Glass's TRADE price and not retail.

No allowance for loss of use or the costs of tramping round trying to find a replacement. They charge a premium partly based on replacement cost and then go milky.

I always advise claimants to tell them to find one, and not accept cash offers, they tend to change their mind then!

Peter.

PS, Geo I got one for £6:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Jane's car has been wrote off twice, and they made a silly offer both times.:whatthe: I just told them to find me one like for like.::bigsmile: They stored it for four months and kept ringing me up.:winky: In the end I got a good offer and got the car repaired. ::bigsmile: Bob.
