Going on Cap Finistere to Santander next Wednesday. Have just checked the weather forecast for the Bay of Biscay ................................... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Waves 5.0 metres, swell 5.3 metres.
I can get sea sick on a li-lo so I'm now very anxious. Got the Stugeron, got the plain biscuits - any other suggestions? Coming back on the Tunnel for sure!!!

On and off for many years.
Ginger biscuits or lemon and ginger herbal tea :)

Lie down as near to the centre of the ship and as low down as you can. Keep your eyes closed - but not until you have found where you can groan in peace.

The only time I've really wanted to die was when clinging on to the edge of the bed trying to stay in it. But that did not last long, I found the toilet much better to hang on to. There's nothing worse than throwing up after you have thrown up everything.

Oh Ralph are you here again, your mate Hughie just left.

Just have a few pints of Guinness as soon as you get on board, followed by two large glasses of Baileys. Then take a bottle port to your cabin. You'll be fine (y) :)

Getting better month by month.
If you can lay down make sure it is across - athwart, the ship rather than fore and aft. Stops the up and down feeling that gives the nauseous feeling.

Another vote for ginger biscuits and ginger herbal tea and I find crystallised ginger good as well .

5m is moderate. Things start getting interesting at 7m and above. (They were 8m when we sailed a couple of weeks ago)
At which point the only option is to stay in the cabin lying flat on the bed. It's almost impossible to move around anyway and there will be tannoy warnings discouraging you from doing so.
Make sure you take the Stugeron a coup,e of hours before you sail and keep taking them every 8 hours I think it is. The tablets are great, you don't need to worry. Just lie back and think of England . Or Spain or wherever you're heading!
Good luck.

Full stomach, empty bowels and bladder.
Did rally navigating for hours on end, head down reading maps at night.
Some relied on Kwells

You have my sympathy, I'm the same.....usually manage to be ok if I can get outside & have been known to stay riveted to the same bit of railing almost all night (but at least I wasn't sick:))

Early last year we did the overnight crossing to Zeebrugge & it was rough - first time ever I took anything ........another vote for Kwells but take them as directed. I had missed a morning dose & ended up getting dressed on my hands and knees:sick::ROFLMAO:.....took another dose and within about 45 min was able to eat breakfast(y)

Good luck!
