Just out of interest how do I find out which one I have?
It is a Marquis Majestic 105 which is based on an Eldiss Accordo 105 registered in Feb 2015.
Is there much difference anyway?

In the front of the Service book it will give you your VIN and Chassis type. I always believed mine was on a X250, but Fiat didnt recocnise my VIN until I changed the chassis type to X290, then they did. Dont know of the difference though just up dated is all I can find

Returned 2015 after many years of kids and other expenses!
So, how can we tell the difference?

I am looking for a towbar and my chassis/suspension at the rear does not match those for the X250 as shown by some of the providers. (2016 Pilote G600)

As said check the VIN number then talk to a Fiat dealer, on-line VIN decoders are pretty useless, also on the Fiat Certificate of Conformity it will have the chassis build date, the X290's started rolling off the line May 2014, Motorhome chassis would have probably started a month or two after.

The chassis will depend on the type of conversion. It could be a straight panel van a platform chassis or Al-Ko

The X250 has a large storage locker in the lower centre of the dashboard. This was replaced by bottle holders in the X290.

Good one Trevor and I've noticed many users don't like it and replace it with a retro fit glove box which are readily available

5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
From what I have read and observed the x290 has a wider chassis, some improved rust proofing, upgraded electronics in the ASR department (a delete option for MH manufacturers) as is the integrated radio. Mine was supplied with a very inadequate aftermarket single DIN effort, which I replaced. A different instrument console. The engines have been upgraded in terms of economy and service length. I am very much a fan of the x290 metal high line chassis, I saw one naked at the NEC show and it is a beast (y)

where's the radio :Eeek:
Not mine really. This one was for sale in the dealers so used it to take photos and measure up things etc before mine arrived. Still had to buy the radio seperately for mine though.

And it has the added feature of not being able to read the speedo.
I can read the x290 speedo far better than I could the x250 even for KMH. I don't even need the convertor strip I bought now, a great improvement.

Not mine. (y) Any light condition the speedo is easily read. Lights on / Lights off day or night. The snag I have is that the steering wheel is in the way:rolleyes:

I think all vans with swivel seat bases have that problem, you would think on a dedicated Motorhome chassis Fiat would have designed for that eventuality.

Carado the sister company gave my dealer a budget of about £80 for the radio, which I sold on EBay to part fund the double din unit I replaced it with. Still I am impressed that Carado supplied the base cab with air con, ASR, cruise control and a speed limiter, all of which are invaluable to me.
Was the Sunlight a similar spec?

All the same as yours except that I didnt have a Radio or budget for it - ihat I know of. I decided on the Kenwood DX450T and reverse Camara system. I have just used the Cruise control for the first time on way home from New Forest on Sunday and No aux light glowing either.(y) Mine aren't the swivel seats, but still have the base I think. My Hab batts are under the driver and the Charger is under the Passenger seat. I have been following all the Doom threads about the Ducato and I am just waiting to see if they have failed me as well. Here's hoping not:)

Agree x250 speedo rubbish when abroad, also original plate under bonnet will clearly show versione x250 or other.

Now this has confused me even more now. MH built Dec 2015, My service book says 290 B1B4 Ort, Datum 26/10/2015. Plate says Versione 250GMMAU New front end style.

Thanks for all your inputs. From techno's post mine looks like the 290 but I have a laptop compartment in the centre console and no bottle holders so I am still confused. No not as a newt.
Not that it really matters at the moment but I suppose it may in the future when I am looking to have some sort of modification done.

Storage locker is still fitted on the X290 if specified and would probably be fitted on the majority of camper chassis I would have thought.

Richard.
