Hi all, I'm Rob and have owned my first m/h (Autocruise Sportstar) for about 3 weeks now, 2016 plan is to prepare for my first trip to Southern Spain (installing satellite Wi-Fi and solar panel), anyone used Rhino for this? Hopefully hit the road late January and return mid April. Reason for trip, I'm in the lucky position to pursue my passion for mountain biking and train in warmer climate for 2016 mtb events. Have ordered All the Aires (france and spain) and been reading up on a campsite called 'Puente de las Herrerias' ,
anyone know it? PS. I'm 59, just divorced (amicably) and newly retired.

Hello and welcome.

Puente de Las Herrerias is in the parque natural de Cazorla y Segura y Las Villas in the region of Andalucia. I think it opens at Easter until October so only of use to you from the end of March this year. It can also be cold there at that time of year. The natural park itself is beautiful and well worth visiting at the right time of year.

Mountain biking is very popular in Spain and there are many places to ride. We ourselves ride in Sierra Espuña where it is usually possible to ride all through the winter months. We live next door to Camperstop Sierra Espuña from where it is possible to ride directly onto some of the mountain trails. The area is used by a British mountain bike company to test out their bikes!

That's the campsite http://www.puentedelasherrerias.com I tried to find on our last trip to Spain. Unfortunately, the coords on CamperContact (a very useful app - search on here for information about it) were wrong, the only time it has ever let me down. This led to an enforced wild camp in the forest and an epic drive out north on the track. All described in my blog, just search for Cazorla on here: Broken Link Removed

Of course, given I didn't find the campsite I can't help other than to suggest be careful on the tracks! The route we used was just passable in a PVC with a few rocks chucked into the deeper holes but not I think on any MH with any sort of rear overhang or if it has been raining - but it is a delightful area. :)

And the coords on CamperContact are now correct!

Hello, we have just joined too, funnily enough, this has nothing to do with campsites, but our neighbour is a mountain bike enthusiast and runs an guided 'runs' in the Algarve mountains. You may well have all the contacts you need but if it is of use I can let you have his contact details.

Will do, will speak to him asap - think he is out at the physiotherapists at the moment!:( Apparently one that specialises in treating mountain bikers knees ;)
