We went to one of our favourite restaurants for lunch today leaving at noon and returning at 6pm. Menu of the day for 5 courses including wine 16 Euros. This place should have a Michelin star. Its in the beautiful Jalon valley and if it were in any part of the UK you would expect no change out of £100 per head.
G&T aperitif, just to get the stomach juices working, followed by home made thick celery soup and hot bread rolls. A full wedge of hot bread crumbed Brie and salad. Followed by Mixed sorbet. Main course of salmon and prawn in tarogen cream sauce with roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Finishing off with Baileys cheesecake and coffee. Superb.

Glad to see you are still keeping to that strict diet of yours Mr Snowbird...

The kilos must be falling off you like marbles rolling down a hill... :xThumb:

JJ :xcool:
Thats why I chose the salmon as opposed to the lamb shank JJ.

Still making mistakes! But they're not as costly.
What's the name of this place please. :)

I agree - with a little care, the food in Spain rarely dissappoints. so much choice and good value and quality is readily available.

Our Chistmas lunch in Benicassim was 5 starters followed by a nice steak, desert coffee and as much wine as you wanted excellent quality and only 20 euros each.

Love the Jalon Valley. Did the Almond blossom walk (twice) in spring 2015...ended up in one of the restaurants adjacent the bodega...didn't eat, only had refreshing coke 'cause it was that hot.
We were on Toretta and used the scooter to get to Jalon.
Quite a few wilding on the elevated car park as you enter the village.
Love Benidorm.

Well, Ste had the home made steak pie. I hasten to add, it was not one of JJs FBs.

To all those who have expressed interest in dining out around the Benidorm area there is a new group set up to cater for the foodies amongst us. Join Benidorm Diners and you will be informed of forthcoming dinner dates. This makes life much easier for me when booking tables and transport. Hopefully we will be able to take advantage of reduced prices such as one restaurant we use said they would give 10% discount on parties of 10 or more. Am busy at the moment with a few mini bus companies who are willing to provide transport.
