i have a cello 12/24 v to/DVDs combo.
We have tried to watch a dvd tonight on 12v and it won't play
We have previously watched a DVD on hook up with no problems.
Not sure if I have a problem or it's the norm for it not to play on 12v ??

The Cello doesn't like low voltage. You can get an Amperor 12 volt stabilised supply which will give a constant 12v right down to around 10 volts.

Playing a DVD uses more power than just watching telly, it has to spin the motor. We are very happy with ours, and have used it for extensive periods without a hookup.
Have you thought about a second leisure battery to prolong life off hookup?

we have a cello 12v; there is only one thing to say about them IMHO their NAFF! :swear2:

sound is crap; the screen failed at 3 months old; the remote has to be inches from the screen ( thats even after it got changed and the tv "sorted "! the picture is " adequate"! :restmycase:

would not buy another; hope it dies soon:doh:

Is that a u-shaped lounge with the battery under one of the sofas? If so, how about under the other sofa? We have a sundance 630, there is even a holder for a second battery under the other sofa. We are having the second battery fitted next month.

Yes battery under sofa but it's not accessible from inside
It's in a sealed Plastic cupboard from the outside

What would you replace it with ?
Must admit sound is ok,but it's the viewing angle is shocking
If you are not sitting upright it's impossible to see the screen without shadows

no sure as yet. we also have an old Avtex which has been trouble free and quite good. its the price that put me off, which is why i bought the Cello. i guess i should have known " buy once, buy well"!

so unless i can wriggle something up on the tinternet when i am looking it will be a new Avtex.

The viewing angle although not not brilliant they are quite good compared to other small sets, far better than the expensive Camos in our last van which I swapped for the Cello (put the Camos back in when I sold it). About 4 years old now never had any problems with it. Like most small screens sound not too good, but I always run it via the vans sound system.

We have a 22" Cello Multi and it works ok right down to a battery voltage of 11.5 ..
Perhaps some Cello models are better at handling low voltage than others ?

They do seem to vary, ours is the later 19inch LED version and the viewing angles are good but the sound is very poor so I guess you would not know what you have got until it arrives.

Beware of adding a new battery to join up with an older unit. The experts recommend a matched pair. ie 2 of the same make and model.(y)

@RS SPIKE does not say which model Cello he has, I wonder if the Traveller range which are for Motorhome/Caravan use have a wider tolerance of working voltage than the other TV's they produce. Unfortunately they don't give a range in the spec.

Indeed, @eddievanbitz (who is doing the work) said exactly the same thing.
