Just bought a submersible pump from Amazon to help with the fill of the Fresh tank. Can anyone spot the mistake or is it me?

And of course it makes no difference whatsoever what colour the wires are as long as they join the right points together.

Don't know if it from Germany or not; Broken Link Removed, but it certainly has me confused. This is not a MH pump, but a general submersible used to transfer diesel / Water etc so would be used to connect to any 12v battery. If this is standard MH wiring, I have sooo much to learn still. Everyday is a school day on here. Still it will either suck the water up or blow big bubbles when I connect it.

Rigged up the pump today to check it out and before I connected it, checked the LB and low and behold a Brown cable - to something, connected to the -Ve. Connected pump as per clip colours and pumps just fine. Why confuse the issue / me:unsure: changing the colours overxroll:

I was asked by a mate recently to wire a 3 phase machine.
Gone are the days when red/white/blue are the lives and black for neutral.
I had to look at another machine to discover its now brown/black /grey and blue is neutral.

WHY ?

In my Hymer , and probably all German built vans, the wiring colours for 12v dc

the Brown is negative. - Blue positive + ..
A new thread starter.......DC reversed polarity :xeek:

12v wiring doesnt have a colour code and the pump will run the correct way regardless, unless it has a reversible motor which it hasnt.

If it's a submersible pump reversing polarity will reverse the pump. It is a centrifugal pump so it will pump liquid whichever way it runs BUT the outlet port is angled so it will flow best when running in the correct direction. And, entirely separately, why would anyone think that a wire colour designated as mains live has any similar meaning when used on a DC supply? DC does not involve 'live' and 'neutral': it has +ve and -ve either of which can be designated 'earth'.
