Under the seat it would only be the wires for the seat belt warning, the air bag on the drivers side is in the top of the steering column and under the dash on the passenger side. Not advisable to play around with air bags unless you fully understand them and know what you are doing otherwise it can result in serious injury.

Since April 1846 but have always camped.
Mine came on in August this year in Port Grimaud. Took it to the nearby Renault dealer. They plugged it in to the computer, said it was a loose wire and charged me €170! Lol!

Mine came on last year while travelling through France. Checked over what I could but couldn't find anything wrong. Got it checked out when we returned to UK and it was the air bag control box. Luckily it was replaced under warranty. Dealer did say that with the air bag light on the air bags would not have activated in a collision so be careful.

Umm.. so you are NOT careful if the light is out !!!!!!!!! ????????? LOL !!:xrofl:

Personally I recon all air bags should be removed and replaced with a steel spike that shoots out.. Now THAT would make people drive with care :xThumb:

Dont fiddle with airbags or belt pre-tensioners unless you are trained.

Bloody dangerous things in the wrong hands.

Airbag warning light means it will not deploy....not dangerous in itself but no protection in an accident.

The wiring under the seat would be for the seat belt pretenioners which are part of the SRS (Supplementary Restraint System, or airbag system to you and me). It may help if you could tell us what vehicle we're talking about. Seatbelt pre tensioner wiring is probably the most common issue but it could be the "clock spring" mech in the steering wheel.

Have you ever seen the you tube clip in the garage where they place a seat on an air bag & one of th blokes sits on it when they set it off ? shoots him right across the room.

hi tony think i need a new ecu or a repair one
enssenjay can not connect to it say ecu us

If it is the same as other vehicles then a new one will cost a fortune + programming & they'll want it paid in advance in case it doesn't cure the fault as a new one , once programmed to your car, cannot be returned & is useless.
The second hand route means that you normally need the ecu, Any other electronic units as well, the ignition lock + keys , & the immobiliser unit. Everything would have to be changed.
Hopefully yours is repairable.

Had my airbag ecu replaced under warranty last week. 2013 Ducato 250, no idea why it should have failed. I had checked under the seat for loose wires but found nothing obvious so let the garage identify and fix it.

Worth repeating here if you have rotating front seats don't turn them round in the same direction as this will wind up and break the wires. Rotate the seats round to the position you want then return them by turning back in the opposite direction, so if it was clockwise to turn then anticlockwise to put back. :)
