How much do they charge now. All they seem to do is change the oil, filters, and do checks. If anything is wrong on the checks you pay extra. All for mega money.

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
Woooooooooo and on the left, an A30. My very first car. First appeared in 1951 with the new A series 803cc engine. The very same block that went on to power the Mini and so much more in different guises, till it was stopped in 2000.

Excellent, SpannerTypeFellow.:xThumb:

10 minutes :xrofl::xrofl:

Takes me that long to get the under-engine trays off.

Try feeding a modern engine oil under pressure....most will run down the outside

It's a joy to behold every summer, when they let those two blokes out of the pit for their two week holiday, blinking in the sunlight and good clean air on their lungs. The kids from the local village call by to brush their hair and see if they'll eat an apple from the palm of their hand :)

Did you learn to drive as well?

He must have! From memory the back seat length's was minimal, crass folk would say the only "comfortable position" was a "knee trembler" over the boot, or "doggy" over the bonnet!:xangry:

So I've been told!:xdoh:

And as a Disclaimer , I have never owned an A30/35 EVER!

BUT! IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET RID OF THE SAND FROM OHOPE BEACH NEW YEARS EVE 1973:xlaugh:

Plug ugly, but solid & well put together by the standards of the day. Taut steering, sweet gearbox, nice to drive. We had the van version as a farm van somewhere around the late sixties - LFE 581.

James Hunt used an A35 as his daily drive. Said it was great fun. The roadholding wasn't brilliant - rear wheel drive & cross ply tyres, but it handled reasonably well & was progressive & predictable. As Hunt said - "The limit is where the limit is - doesn't matter if it's at 30mph or 70mph, it's still fun driving on the limit".

No girlfriends in the A35 van though. That had to wait until I got my mini van. That was much more fun. And I enjoyed driving it more too. :)

Well, if Geo thinks 17/6 is a ripoff its time i was going to pecks hill garage for all my servicing instead of getting oily doing my own.

Not bothered about the wet rag and bucket treatment so does 9/6 sound ok Geo ?
