Used it a few times recently. The changes are to introduce card payment machines, they are all there ready to go but not operational when we were there at the end of September.

Just an update for anyone who's interested. It's still possible to stay overnight on Little Roodee car/coach park - we've just got back from 3 nights there with other Funsters.

Best parking for motorhomes is at the back alongside the river where there are "pull-in" bays, otherwise you may end up overhanging another bay, which you'll have to pay for. Don't park in the coach/lorry bays - it's even more expensive! On Tuesday there were 10 vans parked up.

Cost:- Arrive after 5.00p.m. and it's £1.50, which is valid until 0900 the following day. Day rate is £5.80, which is valid 0700 until midnight the same day. There is a lower fee for shorter stays but not a lot. Note that the carpark is locked from 2230 until 0700 and the "release" fee is £100.:xeek: The toilets are open from dawn until dusk. The on-site cafe has now gone.

The new machines are not yet working so you'll need plenty of change. I'd hazard a guess that there may also be a change to the parking times when they become operational.

It IS a bit expensive, at least for the day, for what you get but it's only a 5min walk into the centre. The Christmas market was very nice, if not very big, but Chester itself is a nice place to visit anyway.
