I arrived early am exactly 3 weeks ago today having chickened and stayed in Ypres. There were 6 vans that had overnighted. The police presence was.......massive. Did all the booze shopping as normal with no problems at all.

Hi, I'm due to arrive there early in the morning of 14th Dec. Planning to get a couple of hours kip followed by a diesel fill before heading south. Is there a particular place for motorhomes to park or will anywhere do ? I imagine that the place is so large it doesn't matter ?

The motor home parking is around the rear of city Europe. Turn left at the last island. It's on the right.

Most parking at Cite Europe is protected from MH by height barriers.
Set your satnav to 50.9328, 1.8110 to find the MH parking.
MHs can't get fuel at Cite Europe as its behind the height barriers.

Alternative is to go straight to Boulogne-St-Martin for fuel its an Auchan shopping complex with plenty of parking for a couple of hours.
Its only 20 minutes from Calais, 50.73242, 1.66825 will find it.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise I couldn't refuel at Cite Europe so once again MH Fun comes up trumps ! I'll head straight off to the Auchan shopping centre and grab a couple of hours kip there before filling up & heading off.

Not sure regards the wisdom of that as you get lots on migrants mouching about...

Haven't used it for a while but there is also a motorhome service point at the Auchan fuel pumps.
Just keep to the left as you enter and its next to the HGV pump, jeton for fresh water available from the kiosk.

Here is a copy of my post on another topic which may answer any concerns you have:-

Went through the tunnel last Friday and as it was dark by the time we got the other side we stayed at City Europe aire for the night. There were around 10 other M/Hs with us and it was quiet as the grave, apart from a couple of truckers who gave a short blast on their air horns as they left the truck park in the early hours.
Came back Monday and stopped there again, this time just us and a few cars, apart from the howling gale it was quiet again.
The only sign of illegals was a small group of them walking past the next morning as we were preparing to leave but they took no interest in us.

Richard.

The calais Auchan with all night fuel station is only a short drive on other side of motorway
Eddie, what is the entrance and exit like on that one? Had a problem last year with a narrow exit and pole that was attracted to my awning on a supermarket fuel station a few miles further South. So looking for something a bit wider.

The Calais Auchen has plenty of room, pick the pumps on the right hand side (credit card pumps).

You would need to be about 10m to have a problem at Auchan Calais.

Yep. Fortunately only left a metre long black streak on the awning casing. But it didn't half take a lot of hard work to get rid of it before I P/Xed it. Would hate to do it on my shiny new Hymer.

Joe's reversed out of supermarket fuel stations while I've gone to pay because there is absolutely no way the van is going to go through the exit. Never been a problem as long as you realise before you try to go through.

Calais Auchan - use the pumps on the right, also signed as disabled.

Citie Europe motorhome parking - follow signs for coach park, it's right next to it. Also overlooked by police station.

When we came through the tunnel from Calais on Tuesday there was no delay at all.
Quick look at the passports by UK border security, 'had we slept in the vehicle last night?', 'had we checked the garage?'. Yes to both and we were on our way to the train with just the usual gas check.
We were even an hour earlier than our booked crossing.
Richard.
